#9 - Just keep piling it on SCTA, this is why it's a dying sport

//rant//

So upon further review, it seems many of the regulations are beyond ridiculous.  For example, full leather suite required with NO perforations.

So the fact that my suit is vastly better built and more protective than the crappy drag racing like suits with next to no armor in them I see pictures of guys a the salt wearing, it's not allowed.  Brand is not taken into account, so I could order a cheap leather suit that meets tech from china for $200 and it passes, but a $1,500 Dianese racing suit is DQd for having chest perforations despite the fact its immesurably more protective.

Things like this are exactly why people don't get involved with racing.  When you throw an arbitrary requirement down without vetting it, people throw up their hands and walk away.

The second very serious and very expensive rule to comply with is the tire situation.  I am now FORCED into a position where I have to buy the BST rear wheel and only have 1 tire choice, Pirelli Diablo 240/40ZR18 79W and a Metzler 140/75ZR17 67W mounted on the stock front wheel.

Here's the fun part: STILL ONLY W RATED!  So, using their own logic, NO ONE can ever challenge a standing Rocket 3 record without fully custom wheel and tire situation.  Even more absurd, going to a Z rated tire, lowers the weight index because none of them are 84, thereby decreasing the safety of running a higher speed rating, as now the tire is over stressed.

I hate that, I hate it with all of my soul.  I hate it to the point where it may stop this and I will enter the "run what ya brung" class and throw the middle finger to the requirements and records, go lay down a stupid fast speed and accept getting booted from the event.  For me it will mean missing out on a certified record, but, it will also mean I still get a slip showing record beating speeds and I don't have to lay out another 5 grand to jump through a short sighted ignorant hoop someone made to prevent idiots on 50 year old bikes with blowers from trying to run land speed on H rated tires.
