#2 - The ball starts rolling, and it rolls quickly!
So now I know 270+hp is achievable and within reach on Mufasa without taking into account any sort of Ramair effect, yes, I'll be using a ram setup. It may not create actual positive pressure in the throttle bodies, but it definitely will minimize losses and keep me as close as possible to true atmospheric pressure at the intake ports and provide a small gain in power.
Where to go from here...? Frontal Area!
I'm 6'2.5" tall and 198lbs. In my leathers, helmet, glove and boots I weight in at about 215lbs, with relatively broad shoulders. No, I'm not bragging haha, those are problems in Land Speed... In short, I'm too big. So, I need to minimize my area facing the open air.
In an effort to do so, I'll be buying some straight bars that are 27" wide, the narrowest that will work with the stock throttle and clutch setups.
Aside from that, I'll be adding a small fiberglass "windshield" in front of the center of the bars that will divert air over my helmet and create a small pocket for my head and upper body. I've already tested this particular shield at speed and it works quite well.
This is the extent of streamlining I'll be doing. I want the bike to stay as close as possible to how I run it on the street!
Here are the bars:
Here is an old picture of Mufasa wearing the small screen I'll be running after reinforcing the mounting points some:
